First Draft
The first concept I came up with was to use a continuous line to represent a timeline of her journey into design. I also wanted to separate the content based on the three different questions I asked.
First Critique
Add pictures for next draft — keeping in mind white space for the eye to rest
Continuous line is an interesting concept but feels sloppy — how can you create a design that is more intentional?
Strong concept — continuous line represents literal path to design
Second Iteration
In this second iteration, I made the background black to make the poster feel less empty. I refined the continuous line concept into separate lines for each question so it's less confusing. I used solid lines to connect questions and dotted lines for the answers. Lastly I added works by Bridget to showcase her journey through different mediums of art.
Second Critique
Design feels much more intentional — smoother lines with regular spacing
Needs variety in composition — pictures are similar sizes, text is mainly placed in the center of the pages
Text is too small, hard to read from afar
Final Concept
Used lines to directly convey classmate's journey to design
Lines to connect question to answer
Dotted lines to connect subtext
Curved lines create feeling of fluidity
Use of original artwork provided by classmate
Emphasizes classmate's passions to work in the creative field
Gives audience a glimpse of classmate's range of works
Final Revision
Text made larger — easier to read from further distances
Varying sizes in images and placement of text
Used a grid to create more ordered composition
